The Gibson Les Paul Special is the baby brother of the Les Paul Junior. It features the same single cutaway body as the old favourite but ads two Gibson open-coil 490Rs and a three-way switch. The result is a much thicker sound. This one of the most common modifications done to the Junior and now Gibson does it for you.
